“Lonely Planet: Love in Morocco” sells itself like a romantic palate cleanser. It mostly delivers the vibes. A single writer goes to a picture-perfect retreat in Morocco, thinking it’ll be about words, quiet, maybe some progress. Then she meets a younger man who seems to have his life half-rearranged already. What starts as friendly banter turns into an intoxicating romance that rearranges her priorities just as fast as it arrives.
Is it deep? Not really. It’s more mood than meaning, with Morocco doing half the work through sheer atmosphere. Still, the emotional momentum is hard to ignore. If you want a soft, sun-drenched love story that flirts with dramatic intensity, this one is for you. If you need fully convincing logic, you might roll your eyes a little.

„Lonely Planet“ klingt nach Roadtrip, ist aber eher ein einsamer Schreiburlaub mit Herzklopfen. Eine alleinstehende Autorin sitzt in einem idyllischen Retreat in Marokko fest im Zwischenstadium: neue Notizen, alte Einsamkeit. Dann taucht ein jüngerer Mann auf, und aus einem netten Gespräch wird schnell so etwas wie eine „warum nicht“-Romantik, die plötzlich alles umstellt. Klingt süß? Ja und nein. Der Film spielt mit Stimmung und Sehnsucht, aber er macht auch diese bekannte Sache: Gefühle wirken wie ein Schnellkochtopf. Trotzdem: Marokko sieht aus, als hätte jemand die Farben neu erfunden, und die Chemie trägt das Ganze, bevor es zu kitschig oder zu beliebig wird. Wer leichte Liebesdramen mag, bekommt hier Duft von Süßholz und Staub von echten Wegen.
